Create your Own Fundraiser
If you would like to raise money to help someone with lupus, the Lupus Alliance of LIQ has some ideas for you! Cant make our walk? Other events not your style or too far away? That`s ok, you can still help by running your own fundraiser right on the Internet.
Visit our our fundraising webpage and click on the get started button. Once there you can choose a sporting event, in memory page, personal occasion or other and then create your own fundraising page that you can send to friends, family, co-workers, social networking pals and more.
- You can turn anything into a reason to fundraise for us including:
- In lieu of Wedding Presents
- For an anniversary
- For a birthday
- Bar Mitzvah
- Confirmation
- Graduation
- Retirement
- In Memory of a Loved one
You can also run your own event, such as asking people to sponsor you on a personal run or walk for lupus, or perhaps something unusual like for Quitting Smoking, vowing to not have a cigarette every day someone donates to your page!
You could make a bet with a friend to see who can raise the most money in a certain amount of time, both making fundraising webpages and using them to keep people up to date on who is winning, and what they will win from the bet.
Personal Internet fundraising has become very popular and people are finding many new and interesting ways to get their friends and family involved and donating to their favorite cause. For instance one couple opened a fundraising webpage and asked people to contribute at least $5.00 to their favorite cause and in exchange for that, the person who donated was allowed to give one suggestion on what they should name their baby. The name with the most votes after a nine month period won, and all the money collected went to the parents favorite charity.
