Lupus Education Days
The 2013 Education Day Dates are:

WHAT IS IT?
The day helps participants learn the medical facts about Lupus and how to live with this chronic illness. The group is limited in size so that experiences can be shared.
WHO CAN ATTEND AND WHY?
All people with lupus and family members or significant others are encouraged to take the class. Learning the facts about Lupus is vital in helping oneself cope with the illness. The sharing of experiences is a valuable way of learning and being with others with lupus means being with others who understand.
TOPICS DISCUSSED:
SESSION I: WHAT IS LUPUS?
An introduction and general overview followed by discussion and questions.
SESSION II: DIAGNOSTIC TESTS AND TREATMENTS
Tests, drugs and other treatments; patient/physician relationship; self-monitoring.
SESSION III: LIVING WELL WITH LUPUS
Relating to others; pacing yourself; adjustment stages; when to call the doctor.

Lupus Office: 2255 Centre Avenue, Bellmore, New York - Time: 9:30 AM thru 4:00 PM
There is a $10.00 fee for members and $15.00 for non-members. This includes a light breakfast and lunch, as well as materials that are handed out. Registration fees are due when you make your reservation. Class size is limited and your fee will guarantee your reservation.
